His cardiology specialist training was completed in 2011, after which he undertook a post-graduate fellowship in cardiac imaging at Prince of Wales Hospital, followed by a clinical and research fellowship at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. During this time, he developed his interest and expertise in the cutting-edge fields of cardiac CT and MRI, with an emphasis on structural heart interventions.
Dr Adam Berger graduated from his medical degree with honours at the University of New South Wales in 2003 before undertaking his physician training at Prince of Wales and Liverpool hospitals.

With advanced training as a cardiac imaging subspecialist, Dr Berger’s expertise serves him well in general cardiology, with special insight into the treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, and valvular dysfunction.
As a conjoint lecturer with the UNSW School of Medicine, Dr Berger has a passion for teaching and is heavily involved with training and mentoring students, junior medical officers, and cardiology trainees. In line with his clinical interests and subspecialty training, he also teaches cardiac CT at the Australian Institute of Cardiac Computed Tomography to upskill fellow cardiologists, radiologists, radiographers, and nuclear medicine physicians.
Dr Berger is currently a visiting medical officer at Liverpool Hospital, and is accredited as a Level B cardiac CT reporter.
He is widely published in various reputable international journals, including topics such as the use of cardiac CT to plan for percutaneous valve implantation in structural heart disease, as well as the long-term prognostic implications of cardiac CT findings in asymptomatic patients.
Dr Berger enjoys cooking and good wine, and is a bassist with his band, The Murmurs.
